Disputes

Resolve a dispute

If a delivery doesn't meet expectations, open a dispute and our moderators will step in. For how money is returned, see the Refund Policy.

Most disputes are resolved within 48 hours. Funds remain in escrow during the review.

1. Escrow protection

When a client places an order, funds are charged in USD and held in Frevn's escrow. Freelancers do not receive payment until the client accepts the delivery, the order auto-completes after the review window, or a dispute is resolved in the freelancer's favor.

2. Delivery & review window

  • Freelancers must deliver on or before the agreed due date shown on the order.
  • Clients have 3 days from delivery to request a revision or accept the work.
  • If no action is taken, the order auto-completes and funds are released to the freelancer.

3. Opening a dispute

Either party may open a dispute from the order page when:

  • The delivery does not match what was agreed in the service or custom offer.
  • The freelancer has missed the deadline without communication.
  • The client is unresponsive after delivery or is making out-of-scope demands.
  • A payment or communication issue can't be resolved between the parties.

Disputes must be opened within 14 days of delivery. Once opened, both parties are asked to share evidence (files, screenshots, chat history) inside the order thread.

4. Resolution process

  1. Mediation (up to 3 days). Both parties are encouraged to reach an agreement — full delivery, partial refund, or mutual cancellation.
  2. Review (up to 5 business days). If no agreement is reached, a Frevn moderator reviews the full order history, deliverables, and messages.
  3. Decision. Moderators may release funds, refund partially or fully, or extend the timeline. Decisions are final unless new evidence surfaces within 7 days.

5. Evidence that helps

  • The original service or custom offer describing scope, deadline, and deliverables.
  • Files that were (or were not) delivered.
  • Chat history inside the order — off-platform messages carry less weight.
  • Screenshots or recordings showing issues with the delivery.

6. Bad-faith disputes

Disputes filed to avoid payment, harass another user, or bypass our Terms of Use may result in warnings, suspensions, or account termination.
